In January 2026, a restored Moorish fortress in the Andalusian hills will open its doors for the first Glainne retreat. From Sunday 11 January to Saturday 17 January 2026, a circle of around thirty gay men and allies will gather inside Castillo de Monda, a castle reserved in its entirety for the group. The week is designed as both sanctuary and celebration: mornings shaped by gentle practices that ground the day, afternoons filled with workshops and shared making, evenings devoted to performance, conversation, and long dinners by candlelight.
Participants are invited to arrive alone or with a partner, with space for curiosity and connection at the heart of the experience. The retreat is not therapy, but a chance to reflect, create, and explore ideas of belonging in an atmosphere of care and conviviality. The circle remains small enough to feel intimate, yet large enough to spark variety and energy.
The stay includes six nights at the castle, all meals prepared with Andalusian flavours, materials for creative sessions, and a full program of cultural events, performances, and workshops led by invited artists and facilitators. Flights to Málaga, airport transfers, alcohol outside of scheduled events, and personal services at the hotel are not included, though transfers can be arranged.
The price is £9,000 for individuals in single occupancy and £15,200 for couples or friends sharing a room. To attend, an invitation is required. You can request an invitation here.
What begins in Andalusia is designed to carry forward: language, practices, and companions who feel like kin, held within the memory of a castle that has witnessed centuries and now gathers a new community within its walls.
