    Yves Saint Laurent - Marrakesh

Visiting Yves Saint Laurent's museum and house in Marrakesh is a must for fashion lovers. The Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakesh, opened in 2017, celebrates the legendary French designer’s connection with the fabled "Pink City". Saint Laurent first visited Marrakesh in 1966 and fell in love with its vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and cultural heritage.

The museum houses an extensive collection of his haute couture creations, showcasing the evolution of his designs and the artistic inspirations drawn from Marrakesh. It also features temporary exhibitions, a research library, and an auditorium. It has emerged as one of the top tourist attractions in the city.

Adjacent to the museum is the iconic Jardin Majorelle, a lush garden bought by Saint Laurent and his boyfriend Pierre Bergé in 1980 to save it from demolition. This is an unmissable LGBTQ+ attraction in Marrakesh. It’s a unique cultural experience that beautifully blends art, fashion, and history.

An interesting museum for its architecture and culture

This museum dedicated to the artist Yves Saint Laurent is a true discovery. The space is air-conditioned, calm, and relaxing. The building's architect has a story to tell, explained in the documentary projected in the museum auditorium. The permanent exhibition allowed us to discover YSL haute couture and ready-to-wear models. Unfortunately, the temporary exhibition room is currently closed until September 14, 2025. This museum is very interesting, both aesthetically and culturally. No waiting if you buy the ticket online. I recommend you buy the Garden + Museums package.
